Woodbridge Tide Mill, an integral piece of Suffolk’s rich heritage, is launching summer craft sessions ‘Crafty mornings at the mill.’
The ‘Crafty mornings at the mill’ take place between 10am-12pm on Tuesday August 13th and Wednesday August 28th. The events give children the opportunity to create their very own mini water wheels, explore the mill and have a chance to win a prize by completing a mouse hunt!
The craft sessions are suitable for children between the ages of 3 – 10. All activities are free with museum entry though children must be supervised by an adult.
The craft sessions are the second community event hosted by the Tide Mill this summer, following the successful Lammas Day celebrations earlier this month.
Lammas day, a festival which marks the annual wheat harvest, fell on August 1st 2019 and Woodbridge Tide Mill celebrated the first wheat festival of the year with a whole host of activities.
The event, which ran from 11am to 2pm, included a range of activities such as the making of corn dollies to signify good luck and a bountiful Harvest, and guests were able to try both Lammas bread and blueberry muffins which were baked with the Tide Mill’s own flour sourced from locally grown wheat. Visitors were able to see Tide Mill machinery which is used in Wheel turnings and Milling Demonstrations.
