Urgent Appeal From All Saints Church

Forty-two years ago, All Saints appealed to the Kesgrave community to help raise money for the now-familiar modern church extension. You responded magnificently and since then the community has enjoyed wonderful Christmas services, packed Mothering Sundays and remembrance parades and exhibitions. We’ve come together for weddings, funerals, baptisms, flower festivals, Silver Games, Silver Café, Silver Screen and Holiday at Home.

Children have enjoyed flag services and Christingle services, schools join us for lessons, we sing together, praise together, eat together, laugh and cry together. Now we need to ask for help again as urgent work needs to be completed this summer.

Our church wiring has reached its end-of-life, our lighting is dim, obsolete, frequently, trips, is far from eco-friendly, and we have no options left. We must entirely re-wire the church and install new lighting.

Built in 1280, All Saints is part of our Kesgrave history and heritage. We are its current-day stewards and parishioners and it is my sincere hope that this project will be embraced by all.

To date, the Lighting Appeal has raised £41,500. We are currently £35,000 short. It seems a huge sum but every donation helps us move a step closer to this urgent remedial work. Perhaps you could donate £5 or £10? If there are individuals, families, companies or organisations that could help more, that would be wonderful.

After Christmas 2020, we want Christmas 2021 to be bright, warm and full of people, love and light. We want children back in a bright church, the elderly back in a warm church, we want colour and warmth to shine through our beautiful large stained-glass window, spreading joy and hope into a dark winter’s night.

Donations can be made via the donate button on our website (see below) where you will also find our bank account details if you’d prefer to donate directly. Alternatively, cheques made out to ‘Kesgrave PCC’ can be sent to Sally Wainman, please phone Sally for her address or for collection on 07807 984589. Thank you so much.

If you would like to hear more about our plans, have fundraising ideas, or church questions in general, please contact Helen: 07825 004585 / [email protected].

Thank you all so much for reading this and for every donation, large or small. Together we can do this Kesgrave! Together we can make All Saints shine again.

Every blessing,
Reverend Robin Spittle & Deputy Churchwarden Helen Wittgreffe
