As you are probably aware by now, The Mix has become the Stowmarket site for the vaccine clinic run by the Suffolk GP Federation. Our staff are working closely with the site manager and staff to ensure anyone coming for their vaccination has a pleasant experience and are assisted when needed.
We could not do this without our wonderful team of volunteers who have come forward from other organisations in our town as well as friends and associates of The Mix. The volunteers are here to welcome you at the B&M car park where you will receive a parking permit and a friendly face (behind the mask) to guide you to the vaccine clinic at the back of The Mix.
It has been great to see other organisations coming together to support this vital operation, including Red Gables, PPG Industries and the local supermarkets offering and providing tea and coffee provisions for staff and volunteers. We even have a group of local ladies making regular batches of baked goods! These kind gestures of support enable The Mix charity to operate as normally as possible, whilst still being able to support the efficient running of the vaccination program.
We all feel extremely proud and privileged to be involved in this operation and we really appreciate the support, patience and understanding we have had from the local community. Whilst we can provide information on the process here at The Mix, we are unable to make an appointment for you. For more information visit the Suffolk GP Federation website: www.suffolkfed.org.uk.
If you would like to know a little more about how you can help or would like to get involved in some way, please contact: Gert@themixstowmarket.co.uk.
In the meantime, many of our services for young people are still running, mainly online due to current restrictions, but we cannot wait for the time when we have young people back in the building again. We know that our services will be needed more than ever.
