The Church Roof Refurbishment Project
Last month we met with our new architect, Michael Garber. Michael will be helping us steer a path through the project maze, make sure we are getting the right authorisation from the various interested organisations and approaching the lottery for funding in the correct way in order to maximise our chances. After such a long break, it will be good to get back organising things again, although obviously not quite in the format we had originally envisaged!
I am sorry that accessing our online giving page is very tortuous if you are doing it manually. Because it is linked to SumUp, our contactless payment system, it has a very long, unintelligible URL. If you can log in using Facebook, you will find the process much easier; it is at the top of St Mary’s page: www.facebook.com/stmaryseastbergholt.
Called Give A Little, it provides just the message we want to project given that so many charities are calling out for all our help and support at this difficult time.
With Christmas on the horizon, we are gearing up to have plenty of gift ideas for your family and loved ones. If any of the following interest you, please contact Liz (01473 312281 / [email protected]) or Fiona (01206 298205 / [email protected]) for further details on costs and delivery.
For Food Lovers
We are putting the finishing touches to a special recipe book to be called Loaves and Fishes. Thank you to those who have already submitted their favourite recipes. We are almost calling ‘last orders’ on submissions, so if you haven’t already, you need to do so quickly (preferable electronically) to either Liz or Fiona.
The photographs chosen for the fundraising calendar are truly spectacular and definitely a cut abov’ our usual calendars on sale in church. We are extremely grateful to the following local photographers who submitted some stunning photos of the church, village, Flatford and surrounding areas: Rasik Bhadresa, Richard Bouwmeester, Rob Dunger, Nigel Paul, Michael Pinckard, Graham Reed, Jean Scruby and Kelley Lianne Smith. It made our decision incredibly difficult!
The calendars cost £9.99 each, but multiple copies can be bought for £7.99 each. To pre-order, contact Fiona or Liz.
No respectable home should be without at least one Matt mug, tea towel, tote bag or fridge magnet. The mugs and tea towels are priced at £8 each, the tote bags are £5 and the fridge magnets are £2. There is a discount if you buy a complete set for £20! Give us a call on the numbers above and we will deliver them to your door!
At the time of writing, we are still hoping to hold our music quiz, devised by Radio Suffolk’s very own Stephen Foster, on 17 October. However, it will be dependent on current Covid-19 restrictions and may need to be postponed till later in 2020 or next year.
Calling all Local Artists
A reminder that 2021 is the bicentenary of Constable painting the world famous Haywain. To celebrate this fact, we are organising an art exhibition for local artists. If you are already an accomplished painter and have some masterpieces spare, or if you are honing your skills during the lockdown, please bear this fundraising event in mind. Now is the time to get painting in preparation while there are no distractions, and it will help while away some time!
Take care and stay safe!
