The Royal Hospital School Launches a Virtual Open Day Due to lockdown, since schools have been unable to hold their traditional open days which normally take place at this time of year.
Suffolk’s Royal Hospital School (RHS) has decided to create its first-ever Virtual Open Day which is set to welcome people through its online doors from 9 am on Saturday 2nd May. The Virtual Open Day allows families to take a museum-style, 360 tour of the school from the comfort of their sofa via www.royalhospitalschool.org.
There is a downloadable guidebook providing details about RHS to accompany the commentary. Following a welcome video from Headmaster Simon Lockyer, people can hear from current pupils and parents about their thoughts and experiences of the school. There’s a bird’s eye flight, the chance to try out some Art & Design projects with RHS teacher-led ‘How-to’ videos and a video capturing the vibrancy of the school. RHS has also created a detailed FAQ document covering many of the common questions asked by parents.
Commenting about the decision to create a Virtual Open Day, Simon Lockyer said:
“There is no substitute to visiting RHS and meeting the pupils and staff that make the community and the great school that it is. However, we look forward to welcoming prospective families and providing a taste of what we do, the opportunities we provide and the breadth of educational provision we can offer. We have a hugely proficient technological infrastructure and therefore it felt only appropriate to use it in a way to welcome visitors, albeit remotely.”
