I last reported that the two surgeries in Martlesham Heath and Kesgrave (The Birches) had joined forces to create a ‘hot’ COVID-19 only site in Martlesham and a ‘cold’ (non-COVID-19) site at the Birches. This has now ceased with both practices going back to treating only their own patients, as normal. This will continue unless there’s a second wave of infections later in the year.
Please continue to call your own surgery when you need to. We have been advised that the door to Martlesham Surgery will remain locked, so you will need to knock if you need to speak to someone or gain admittance. The use of phone appointments will continue for the time being where it isn’t necessary for patients to be seen in person and only urgent blood tests are being done. These restrictions are all in place as a result of COVID-19 alert level 4 for the NHS. Once this has been reduced to level 3, the message you hear when you call the surgery and the other restrictions mentioned will be changed.
You’ll find useful information on the surgery website at: www.mhdoctors.co.uk.
The website has recently been changed, so our PPG pages, including past news items, can now be found under the tab labelled About (on a mobile device, the menu can be found by checking the three horizontal lines in the top right-hand corner). You can now change the font size and colours with different accessibility options along the bottom of each page. For those able to access them, online services, such as ordering repeat prescriptions and checking your health records, are available, so do register for these if you can. It helps patients and the practice.
As the lockdown has eased, we hope you will enjoy the rest of the summer.
