Manningtree and District Photographic Society

A quick word from our friends at the Manningtree & District Photographic Society:

We invited award-winning photographer Roger Hance FRPS into our homes via Zoom on January 28 for a beautifully illustrated talk entitled All the Gear and No Idea, showing us how, with a little preparation and thought, we could improve our photographic skills.

We are a small and friendly group of photography enthusiasts who (in normal times) meet up on the Essex/Suffolk border. The club aims to provide an enjoyable environment for members to develop their photographic skills through a variety of activities in the company of like-minded individuals.

Our Zoom meetings continue to attract a good number of members and recent competitions were well supported. We also have the Facebook challenge to keep us motivated and a winning image, Hopping Bridge by Frank Pearson, is featured this month.

Meetings will continue via Zoom until further notice. You’ll find all the details on the website but in February we have two competitions.

March 16: Wildlife of the Tendring Peninsular with Liz Huxley

March 25: The Art of Zoo Photography with Tal Chohan

Normally we meet at 7.30pm on the second, fourth and fifth Thursdays at the St Johns Ambulance Centre, Station Road, Manningtree CO11 1EB.

New members are welcome to join us via Zoom at present or may attend initially as visitors. Please contact our secretary, Viv Scurrell for details: 01206 393751 / [email protected]
