Manningtree and District Photographic Society

We continue with a limited programme during the summer, a monthly talk via Zoom and an outdoor event to allow everyone to meet up in a safe manner and dust off their cameras.

We are a small and friendly group of photography enthusiasts who (in normal times) meet up on the Essex/Suffolk border. The club aims to provide a pleasant environment for members to enjoy the development of their photographic skills through a variety of activities in the company of like- minded individuals. We would be pleased to welcome you at one of our evenings once it is safe to resume or to join a virtual meeting before then.

Our Zoom meetings continue to attract a good number of members with competitions being well supported. This month’s featured image is The Village Smiffy by Martyn Scurrell, winner of the Country and Village Life competition. We also set a Facebook challenge with a new subject every two weeks.

Details of our programme can be found on the website. The next online meeting in June will be a talk on Cityscapes and Night Photography with Steve Hedges. The date for the outdoor meeting at The Place for Plants is still to be confirmed.

All meetings will be held via Zoom until further notice. In normal times, we meet at 7.30pm on the second, fourth and fifth Thursdays at the St Johns Ambulance Centre, Station Road, Manningtree CO11 1EB.
