#LoveStowmarket is a local initiative to show the people of the town that they are special and that Stowmarket is a great place to live.
It started in April with an Easter Egg giveaway to 360 people in the Combs Ford area and was then followed by a free Father’s Day BBQ, at Hillside Community Centre. Next came Stowmarket Carnival, which continued the theme of love with the team in the procession dressed as Beauty & The Beast, giveaways at our carnival stand and carnival praise on the recreation ground to wrap up the weekend.
This took us onto the free community fun day at Chilton Primary School in conjunction with The Salvation Army, with more than 630 people attending a fun afternoon which was opened by the Mayor of Stowmarket.
Working with Stowmarket Town Council, our latest project is to paint and refurbish Boulters Bridge which has been looking a bit sad for a while. The team of volunteers have been there every Saturday in August in order to complete the work which is nearly finished.
The next target will be working with Mid Suffolk Council to refurbish and paint the six wooden planters near the B&M carpark.
