Ipswich’s Best Food Vote!
Clean sweep for indies as the All About Ipswich Food & Drink FORKNIGHT awards are all won by independent businesses, with over 2,000 votes from the public.
Ipswich Central’s annual campaign FOOD & DRINK FORKNIGHT (run by the All About Ipswich team at Ipswich Central), which has celebrated and promoted the town’s food & drink offer since 2013, sees independent restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs triumph in the Food & Drink FORKNIGHT awards; with small businesses winning all 12 awards.
The winners below, as voted by over 2,000 members of the public:

GOLD: Alaturka
SILVER: The Forge Kitchen
BRONZE: Salthouse Harbour Hotel
IPSWICH’S BEST PUB/BAR
GOLD: Arcade Tavern
SILVER: The Greyhound
BRONZE: The Steamboat Tavern
IPSWICH’S BEST DISH
GOLD: Chilli Cheesy Chips (The Steamboat Tavern)
SILVER: Alaturka Spesiyal (Alaturka)
BRONZE: Katsu Kare (Mizu)
With over 2,000 members of the public voting on allaboutipswich.com in September and October 2018, the results of the awards indicate that the town’s food & drink offering is as strong as ever and that the people of Ipswich support their local independent food & drink businesses.
Jack Cripps (All About Ipswich Coordinator at Ipswich Central) says: “It’s wonderful to see that small businesses and independents are so well loved and respected in Ipswich. The town is full of amazing places to eat and drink; all run by passionate local people who have chosen Ipswich as the town to have their business; so it is great to see the public supporting and enjoying their locals and independents.”
Sophie Alexander (BID Manager at Ipswich Central) says: “It’s important that we all continue to support our local independents, Ipswich has a great offer from retail to leisure, culture to health & beauty and these awards reflect that.”
