While continuing to provide an emergency service throughout the lockdown, MP Plumbing & Heating, an independent plumbing and heating company based in Stowmarket, has adapted how it operates in two critical ways.
First, when a call comes in, they try to solve the problem over the phone, working with the caller to identify the cause and fix it without putting themselves or their property at risk. If that isn’t possible, a site visit is arranged.
Second, they call all their customers prior to arrival and if any items are required, they pick these up on the way, thereby enabling customer to stay at home where they are safe.
The company is also providing free of charge oil level checks for the vulnerable, as they don’t want them running out and having to wait for a delivery.
Matthew Pead, who runs the company, has spoken to many homeowners in recent weeks who expressed relief on discovering the company was still operating and able to respond in what is often a stressful situation.
“I’m pleased we have been able to carry on working,” said Matthew. “Of course we adhere to government guidelines to ensure the safety of our customers and our staff, but the demand for our services hasn’t lessened significantly and we have several new customers on the books.”
MP Plumbing & Heating are Grant accredited installers. “Grant have been awarded Which Best Oil Boiler for many years. It’s great to be recommended by a big company,” says Matthew.
Customers also get peace of mind knowing the company has Suffolk Trading Standards approval.
