Holbrook Society Team
We have an update from the Holbrook Society team:
The holbrook safari – a new village event for the summer!
Following the great success of the scarecrow competition last summer, we are holding a Safari event on 3 and 4 July. Entrants should produce a wildlife scene in their front garden to be on display over the weekend.
Exhibits might be scarecrows but could be models, soft toys, cut outs – your imagination is the limit – but they should not be live animals. Entry will be £5 which will be donated to St Elizabeth Hospice; there will be collection boxes around the village for those who walk round, hoping to emulate last year’s fantastic total of over £1,000.
Entry forms will be in the next Parish Papers and should be in by 12 June. Prizes will be offered in three categories: age 11 and under, age 12-16 and adults. A great Safari Trail map, designed for us by Dan Thomas, will be available.
Watch out for the fabulous poster, once again designed for us by Martin Reed.
As announced last month, the 2022 Holbrook Calendar will feature your photographs. Profits will go to EACH: East Anglian Children’s Hospice. We are looking for photographs showing life in and around the village throughout the year. People can be included but if they are identifiable, they must be willing for the photographs to be shared and we shall need signed permission. You may already have some from over the autumn and winter which can be entered.
Please use the best resolution you can and do not reduce them to send in. They should be submitted by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Closing date: 31 August 2021.

We are looking forward to using the newly refurbished village hall and are delighted to have made our first booking!
It’s a long way off but, hopefully, we shall all be feeling much more confident by then. So, it is our pleasure to announce Charlie Haylock on working with Ralph Fiennes and Monica Dolan on The Dig on 13 May 2022
Best wishes to you all, The Holbrook Society Team
