East Bergholt Tennis Club

As summer approaches we look forward to months of, hopefully, uninterrupted tennis. We always welcome new members and are delighted to confirm membership now exceeds 200. Please join our coaching sessions or come along and ‘pay and play’ if you just want to enjoy some tennis.

We are continuing to work hard to improve our club and upgrade our facilities. Last month we highlighted the proposed Crowdfunding project to raise funds for the replacement and upgrading of our failing floodlights. This will have been running throughout May and we invite you to look up the Crowdfunding page (crowdfunder.co.uk) to check on its progress and perhaps support us in our attempt to meet our target. If the closing date has passed, please consider approaching a committee member should you feel able to help in any way.

With so many new members, we can return to offering competitive tennis to those who are interested and plans for men’s, ladies’ and mixed teams are in place for the local Ipswich and District League. These will run alongside the continued provision of the various coaching options for players of all ages and levels provided by our head coach, Matthew Watson.

Tuesday Club Nights have been well supported and, as we appear to be nearing the end of Covid-19 restrictions, we hope to introduce the opportunity to gather socially in the pavilion bar. In the meantime, if you wish to check on the latest news and events, please visit our website or use our current Facebook page – East Bergholt Tennis Club 2020.
