Be a hero by dressing as your hero to run or walk around historic Castle Park in Colchester for St Helena Hospice.
The new Comic Hero Run fundraising event on Sunday, March 19 is set to be great fun for families, film fans and comic book buffs alike. Whether you’re a fan of comics, TV or films such as Star Wars or Marvel, Lord of the Rings or Frozen – this one is for you!
There is a choice of routes: 10k open to anyone age 16 and over; 5k open to anyone age five years and over; 1k (including buggy dash) open to all, with age four and under going free. Please note children age 12 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times during the run.
Every penny raised in sponsorship during Comic Hero Run will help local people with an incurable illness to live well and die with dignity and choice. Andrew understands the importance of hospice care. His mum, Christine, spent her last days at the hospice’s inpatient unit. He said: “The hospice seemed to reach in and fix something in the heart of our family to help all of us cope and that was the beautiful thing. Something that every human being deserves at the end of their life is that ability to relax, to not be afraid or scared.”
So dust off your cape, dig out your wand or simply suit up for this fundraising fun run.
