Ipswich Ravens Volleyball

The seasonal weather and illness caused last month’s indoor six-a-side competition at Northgate School to be scaled down, there was no Division 2 competition and just six teams entered Division 1 including Ravens men. They were able to continue their policy of providing opportunities to their junior boys to compete at adult level, with two under-15s in the team, and once again they were very pleased with the outcome. They finished second in the initial pool phase with a good win and a narrow defeat against the two Ipswich teams. This…

Ipswich Ravens Volleyball

This last month saw another big entry in the popular 6-a-side indoor series held at Northgate School, with six teams in Div 1 including Ravens men, and eight teams in Div 2 including their ladies. The men’s team included four of their improving juniors and remarkably managed to win their initial pool with exciting victories against local rivals Ipswich and Stowmarket. This meant they qualified for the final group, where they followed up with an excellent performance in losing narrowly to Lakenheath, who have not yet lost a match this season,…

Idelo Travel

Words from Managing Director Andrea Powell When I first set up my business I was totally new to travel. Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant, all of my experience came from simply being a customer who had travelled. People asked me how I could possibly do this – after all there was ‘the internet’, the ’Big Boys’ and so on – but I think this was an asset. Being an outsider and new to the industry, it made it legitimate for me to ask why, to challenge the perceived wisdom.…

Ipswich Ravens Volleyball

The new indoor season is now well under way. The Ravens entered two teams in the monthly Suffolk Indoor 6-a-side tournament held at Northgate School. They continued our emphasis on developing their juniors and ladies in particular. The boys performed admirably with a win against Ipswich 2nds and narrow…

Connecting Communities

Can you find the transport you require? This is the story BSEVC often hear. “I’m cosy in my room, legs up on the recliner, TV on and a cuppa beside me, but I’m feeling lonely and isolated. My life could be so much richer and happier if only I could get to the local coffee morning and chat with real live people. I worry so much about imposing on busy relatives to get me to my health appointments. I want to visit friends and wander at leisure round the local…
